Gated entrances were once associated with very high-end gated communities, with exclusive housing and a security guard at the entrance. Now, this isn’t quite so much the case. Gates can be used in a range of developments and alongside a range of properties, to give added creature comforts and make residents feel safer.
With housing becoming more cramped, people feel the need for more privacy. Often, gates can help with this. Even if you aren’t going to have any more privacy from your neighbour, you are going to have more privacy from the outside world. It can make a big difference to the way your home feels.
More people are now living in blocks of flats, and in houses on new estates. This differs from rows of terraced housing and from large, standalone detached properties. Often estates will use gates to give added protection for the residents – and the protect their parking where this is at a premium!
